Dark History UK is on the rise — and we’re looking for the bold, the brilliant, and the downright bizarre to join us.
We don’t do boring tours. We tell true stories of terror, tragedy, and the paranormal in the streets where they actually happened. If you can command a crowd, spin a tale, and walk cobbled streets in the rain without flinching — you might just belong with us, and if you can’t – we can teach you!
This isn’t a job. It’s a performance. A haunting. A calling.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome actors, performers, storytellers, historians, and even curious first-timers — as long as you’ve got:
Presence – You can hold an audience in the palm of your (cold, ghostly) hand
Personality – Big, weird, dry, dramatic — we love it all
Reliability – You show up, on time, in costume, in character
Curiosity – You love research, history, and digging up local stories
Adaptability – Rain, hecklers, ghosts… you take it in stride
Whether you’ve performed at the RSC or in your bathroom mirror — if you love the weird and wonderful, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing

Performing 90-minute walking tours through haunted and historic locations

Delivering a scripted but flexible performance with room for improvisation

Bringing real historical stories and paranormal accounts to life

Wearing costume (provided) and staying in character

Engaging with diverse audiences of all ages

Working evenings and weekends
